Stop ICE from Converting Warehouses into Detention Camps

The Trump administration is moving forward with plans to purchase and convert industrial warehouses into large-scale ICE detention facilities across the country. More than twenty sites have already been purchased or proposed — many located near schools, hospitals, and houses of worship — often without any notification to or input from local officials and communities. These facilities could hold up to 9,500 people, raising serious concerns about infrastructure strain even among those who support immigration enforcement.

The humanitarian stakes are deeply alarming. Existing ICE detention facilities have a well-documented record of abuse, neglect, and a lack of transparency. Families, attorneys, and elected officials have repeatedly been denied access to these sites, and reports of dangerous and even deadly conditions have drawn widespread condemnation. Expanding this system into repurposed industrial warehouses — with little oversight or accountability — threatens to make a dire situation even worse.

Opposition to these facilities has been bipartisan. Protests and public pressure have already convinced some property owners and companies to back out of deals with the Department of Homeland Security. However, several sales remain pending, and the administration continues to push forward. Your voice matters — urge your representatives to speak out and take action to stop ICE from establishing these detention camps in your state.

Hello, I am an assistant calling on behalf of a constituent, {{first_name}} {{last_name}} from {{city}}, {{state}} zip code {{zip_code}}. I'm reaching out today because I'm deeply concerned about the Trump administration's plan to convert industrial warehouses into ICE detention camps. Over twenty sites have been identified across the country — many near schools, hospitals, and places of worship — and local communities are being kept in the dark. Existing ICE facilities already have a troubling record of abuse and lack of oversight. Expanding this system into large, under-regulated warehouse facilities is unacceptable. I'm asking Representative {{representative_name}} to publicly oppose ICE's detention expansion and to support legislation or other measures that would prevent these facilities from being built in our state.
